Steve Poulton MSc
Steve has worked full time in the outdoor sector since 1989. He has an extensive background of working with all types of client from children who present challenging behaviour to directors from blue chip companies - he has done it all!
Steve has a post graduate diploma in tourism and hospitality management which led to his Masters degree (MSc) in Management Development from Sheffield Hallam University (Sheffield Business School Faculty).
In addition to his academic qualifications, Steve is also qualified by Mountain Leader Training England as a single pitch climbing instructor (SPA award), by the British Canoe Union as a Trainee Level 3 Kayak Coach, the Corps of Canoe Lifeguards as a CST assessor and the Royal Yatching Association as a Powerboat, Safety Boat and Personal Water Craft (Jet Ski) Instructor.
Steve has an O.C.R certificate in Off Site Safety Management and often works on external health and safety projects for the outdoor industry that include staff training and project management for some of the biggest names in the outdoor and holiday sector and more recently has custom written waterside working training programmes for the construction industry.
Steve leads all of our team development courses and ensures all our programmes for young people meet the key objectives of 'Every Child Matters' and the government manifesto on 'Outdoor Learning'.
Steve holds a full first aid at work certificate has a basic food hygiene certificate, an enhanced CRB check and various other courses and qualifications under his belt.
In his spare time he enjoys ski-ing, travelling in the camper van, drinking red wine and eating organic food!
